Common questions
- Is it really free?
- Completely. Every lesson, both drills, the whole rules library, the feed and the garden are
free. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription — nothing to buy.
- Will I lose my progress if I delete the app?
- Yes. Everything lives on your device and nowhere else, which is also why we can't see it.
Deleting the app deletes your streak, mastered words and garden with it.
- My reminders aren't arriving.
- Check iOS Settings → Notifications → German Growth, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't
silencing them. You can set as many reminders a day as you like, at your own times, in
Profile → Reminders.
- Why does my garden look bare?
- It grows from what you actually do — lessons finished, nouns and cases met and mastered,
and your streak. It also wilts if you leave it, and a single lesson revives it. Tap the eye
in the top corner to preview it in full bloom.
- Why does it start me on gender and cases rather than vocabulary?
- Because that's the part other apps skip, and the part that stops sentences coming out right.
Vocabulary is easy to pick up anywhere; declension isn't.
- Can I use it offline?
- Yes, all of it. The only thing needing a connection is the online dictionary lookup, which
opens a website when you ask it to.
- I found a mistake in the German.
- Please tell us — include the lesson or word and what it should say. The course is written
and checked carefully, but a real error is worth fixing quickly, and we'd rather hear it.
